- Pilot (OAD 09/12/03)
Anthony Anderson ("Barbershop," "Me, Myself & Irene,") stars in this new
comedy as Anthony, a struggling actor and single dad trying to provide a
stable environment for his 8-year-old son, Tuga (Damani Roberts). As soon as
Anthony moves back into his parents' home, he immediately remembers why he
left in the first place. His mother Flo (Roz Ryan,"Amen") is always
understanding and supportive, but his cantankerous father Joe (John Amos,
"Good Times," "West Wing") wants Anthony to abandon his acting hopes and take
a "real job" working in the family beauty salon/barber shop. To complicate
things, Anthony's old room is being rented out to Lydia (Aimee Garcia,
"Greetings From Tucson"), a female medical student, leaving Anthony alone in
the garage.

When Anthony (Anthony Anderson) makes plans for his first date in ten
years; he turns to his parents (John Amos and Roz Ryan) for advice on how to
gently tell Tuga (Damani Roberts) the truth about the youngster's mom and why
she left them six months ago.
- It's My Son, I Can Raise Him If I Want To (OAD 09/26/03)
When Joe (John Amos) and Flo (Roz Ryan) criticize Anthony's (Anthony
Anderson) parenting skills and his leniency with Tuga (Damani Roberts),
Anthony announces that he no longer wants their help. After a taste of life
without the support of his family, however, Anthony realizes that Tuga needs a
father more than he needs a buddy, and the family comes to terms on how they
can raise Tuga together.
- Go with the Flo (OAD 10/03/03)
When Anthony (Anthony Anderson) convinces his mom (Roz Ryan) to become
more independent and socialize without Joe (John Amos), it leaves the men of
the house to take care of themselves, and Joe begins to realize how much he
takes Flo for granted.
- Flo's Dream (OAD 10/10/03)
Anthony (Anthony Anderson) goes against Joe's (John Amos) wishes and plans
what he believes is the perfect birthday surprise for Flo (Roz Ryan), to
reunite her with her old band mate (guest star James Avery, "Fresh Prince of
Bel Air") and give his mom one more moment in the spotlight. However, when
Anthony learns the truth about why Flo stopped performing, he goes to great
lengths to protect her from getting hurt

When Anthony (Anthony Anderson) wrecks Joe's (John Amos) beloved car,
Lydia (Aimee Garcia) takes the fall for him and one lie quickly leads to
another. When Joe discovers the truth, everyone learns a lesson about what it
means to be his favorite.
- My Hero (OAD 10/24/03)
Anthony (Anthony Anderson) discovers that Tuga (Damani Roberts) has lied to
his teachers about Anthony's profession, which makes Anthony realize that his
son doesn't understand what he does for a living. Even after Anthony lands a
job, he must make a decision about the role in order to make his son proud.
- Everyone Plays (OAD 11/07/03)
Joe (John Amos) criticizes the way Anthony (Anthony Anderson) is
coaching Tuga's (Damani Roberts) tee-ball team, and insists on taking
over the coaching duties. Things turn ugly when Joe's "winning is
everything" philosophy clashes with Anthony's laid-back style.
- Joes Big Break (OAD 11/14/03)
Anthony (Anthony Anderson) puts his career dreams on the line when he
accepts Joe's (John Amos) bet that he can land an acting job before
Anthony does. Meanwhile, Lydia (Aimee Garcia) is hesitant to speak at
a medical school fundraiser when she discovers they only asked her is
because of her nationality.
- Training Wheels (OAD 11/21/03)
When Joe (John Amos) buys Tuga (Damani Roberts) a bike, Anthony
(Anthony Anderson) has to admit the reason he is against the gift is
that he doesn't know how to ride a bike. Meanwhile, Lydia (Aimee
Garcia) tutors a boy-genius medical student (guest star Martin
Spanjers, "8 Simple Rules For Dating My Teenage Daughter"), but things
get complicated when she realizes he has a crush on her and wants her
to deflower him.
- Get Out Of Dodge... Ball (OAD 01/08/04)
When the future of dodge ball at Tuga's (Damani Roberts) school is in
question because some of the parents think it's too rough, Anthony
(Anthony Anderson) and Joe (John Amos) challenge the skeptical parents
to a game with the winning team being able to give their
recommendation to the school board. Lydia (Aimee Garcia) must make a
decision about her future in medicine after she continually faints at
the sight of blood.
- One Flew Over The Kai-Kai's Nest (OAD 01/15/04)
Anthony (Anthony Anderson) becomes concerned when he realizes that
Tuga's (Damani Roberts) new best friend is imaginary. Seeing it as a
deeper problem, Anthony and John (John Amos) visit a child
psychiatrist (guest star French Stewart, "3rd Rock From The Sun") and
are told that their anger toward each other may be the root of Tuga's
problem. Meanwhile, Lydia (Aimee Garcia) enhances her cleavage in an
attempt to improve her love life
- Home Movie (OAD 01/22/04)
When Tuga (Damani Roberts) has to do a school project about his
family, he worries that the kids will continue to tease him because
his mother doesn't live with him. Determined to teach Tuga the true
meaning of family, Anthony (Anthony Anderson), Joe (John Amos) and Flo
(Roz Ryan) go overboard producing a home movie.
- January 29, 2004: Time Bandit:
Anthony runs into his old childhood friend Marcus (RonReaco Lee),
whom Joe always considered to be a bad influence on his son. Later,
when Joe's watch is missing, he assumes Marcus has stolen it
- February 5, 2004: Into the Woods:
Joe and Anthony take Tuga camping with his classmates in an effort to help
him make some friends, but the trip starts out badly when they get lost and
there's a mix-up with the camping gear. Elsewhere, Flo and Lydia host a
lingerie party with the help of Anthony's friend Marcus.
- February 12, 2004: Face the Music:
Anthony takes clarinet lessons with Tuga's music teacher (Jenny McCarthy)
to encourage his son to keep playing the piano and unwittingly ends up
performing in a children's orchestra concert.
