Season One

  1. Pilot (OAD 09/16/03)
    Entertainment reporter Robert James raises his young son while balancing the demands of his ex-wife with those of his girlfriend.
     
  2. Birthdaze (OAD 09/23/03)
    The competition heats up between Neesee and Tia, who try to out-do each other by planning separate birthday parties for Bobby Jr., so Robert attempts to increase the peace between the women and bring everyone together for one big birthday bash.
     
  3. Here Comes The Bride (OAD 09/30/03)
    When Robert invites Tia to move into his closet space, she gets jealous when she discovers his old wedding video showing a happy Robert with his now ex-wife Neesee. Meanwhile, a misunderstanding about which videotape Tia actually found gives Neesee leverage in a battle with Robert over who gets custody of Bobby’s Jr.’s old crib.
     
  4. October 7, 2003: Kindergarten Confidential:
    Neesee becomes room mother for Bobby Jr.'s kindergarten class, and buddies up to his teacher - and Tia's best friend - Jonelle. Robert, meanwhile, prepares to interview Beyonce Knowles, but he and Dirk disagree about what questions he should ask.
     
  5. October 14, 2003: Say My Name, Say My Name:
    Robert becomes upset when he learns Tia isn't planning to take his name once they're married. He also confronts Neesee about why she's kept his name. Robert and Tia also set up their registry and throw an engagement party.
     
  6. October 21, 2003: Uncle Marcus Comes to Dinner:
    When Neesee begins dating a handsome dentist (Boris Kodje), Robert becomes jealous, but claims his concern is for Bobby Jr. Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith wrote the episode.
     
  7. November 4, 2003: Spatial Profiling:
    The station runs a profile of Robert that makes it appear Tia is Bobby Jr.'s mother. Needless to say, Neesee isn't happy. After Bobby's classmates mistake her for his nanny, she jeopardizes Tia's job by lodging a complaint with the school, which forbids teachers from dating parents.
     
  8. November 11, 2003: Tia Moves In:
    Tia officially moves in with Robert, but the transition proves bumpy for Bobby Jr. Also, Jonelle sublets Tia's apartment and hosts a party for her new neighbors.
     
  9. November 18, 2003: Jonny Comes Marching Home:
    Robert, Dirk and Neesee receive a visit from an old college friend, played by Will Smith. Freshly divorced, he soon finds himself kissing Neesee after an '80s-themed party.
     
  10. November 25, 2003: Out of the Picture:
    Bobby's increasingly frequent overnight stays are disrupting Robert and Tia's love life. They must get over it or the frustration will drive them crazy. So they do get over it, and something else drives them crazy. Meanwhile, Neesee starts a catering business.
     
  11. December 16, 2003: I Saw Tia Kissing Santa Claus: Bobby Jr. catches his dad, who's decked out like St. Nick, in a kiss with Tia - and comes away believing his dad is the real Santa. Also: Tia's relationship with her visiting dad (James Avery) becomes strained after she discovers him in a compromising position with his girlfriend.
     
  12. January 13, 2004: Catering:
    Neesee contemplates quitting her burgeoning catering career when Bobby Jr. begins to act out both at home and at the TV station. Also: Dirk is surprised when he falls not for a sexy superstar, but for her lawyer (Kent Masters-King).
     
  13. January 27, 2004: Use ta Be My Girl:
    Allen Payne guest stars as Larry, one of Tia's closest friends from childhood, whose visit unsettles Robert when Larry admits that he wishes he was marrying Tia. Things go from bad to worse when Larry explains why.
     
  14. February 10, 2004: Boxing:
    Robert teaches Bobby Jr. how to box, which doesn't sit well with Neesee - especially when her son returns from school with a black eye. Boxing champ Sugar Shane Mosley guest stars.
     
  15. February 17, 2004: Jonny Come Lately?:
    Robert's old pal Jonny (Will Smith) returns to town to visit Neesee and joins the gang on a trip to Las Vegas. However, Jonny and Neesee may have more in mind than hitting the casino.
     
  16. February 24, 2004: O Brother, Where Art Thou:
    Dirk's estranged brother (Tyra Banks) arrives for a visit with a surprise: he's had a sex-change operation and is now auditioning for America's Next Top Model. Also: Patti LaBelle guest stars as Robert's mom, who collapses in front of Bobby Jr.
     
  17. March 2, 2004: A Family Affair:
    Robert's visiting sister convinces Tia to invest in a business opportunity after Robert passes on it.
     
  18. March 30, 2004: Wedding Dance:
    Although Tia wants to have their wedding on the beach or on a mountaintop, Robert is convinced that she really wants an expensive shindig. So, to make extra money to pay for it, he appears in a TV commercial for a car dealership. Meanwhile, Bobby gives a girl he likes Neesee's old engagement ring.
     
  19. April 27, 2004: O Brother, Where Art Thou?:

  20. May 4, 2004: Thirty Candles:
    When Robert forgets Tia's birthday, he turns to Neesee for help in organizing a last-minute surprise party while he heads out to cover a strike by the stuntmen's union - with Tia in tow.
     
  21. May 11, 2004: Play Date:
    To improve Bobby's social skills, Robert arranges play dates for him with the coolest kid in his kindergarten class. One thing Robert doesn't expect, however, is for the boy's mom (Nicole Ari Parker) to flirt with him.
     
  22. May 18, 2004: It Takes Three to Tango:
    Robert has erotic dreams about Neesee, and tells Tia about them. Soon enough, Neesee is in Tia's dreams, too. Meanwhile, Robert and Tia take dance lessons along with Dirk, Jonelle and Turtle.

Season Two

  1. September 21, 2004: Reunited and It Doesn't Feel So Good:
    Robert seduces Tia after their separation, but it doesn't change her feelings toward him. Meanwhile, Dirk and Jonelle's relationship takes an unexpected turn.
     
  2. September 28, 2004: Return of the Mack: Coping with heartache means moping for Robert — until he sees his son copying his depressing behavior. A fireman takes an interest in Tia after a classroom visit.
     
  3. October 5, 2004: The Kiss Off:
    Robert tries to get under Tia's skin by going on a date with another woman, so Tia counters by accepting a date with a guy she doesn't really like. Elsewhere, Neesee and Alex struggle with a school science project for their kids.
     
  4. October 12, 2004: In Through the Out Door:
    When Robert and Bobby get sick, it's up to Neesee to nurse them back to health. Tia's feelings for Rick change when his ex-wife makes her presence known.
     
  5. October 19, 2004: Why Do Fools Fall Back in Love?:
    Robert and Neesee go out to dinner to explore their new attraction to each other; Tia doesn't take Robert's rejection well; Dirk is up to his neck in wedding plans.
     
  6. October 26, 2004: Let's Stay Together:
    Robert and Neesee decide against reconciliation, freeing Robert to try to pick up where he left off with Tia. Turtle and Robert treat Dirk to a bachelor party.
     
  7. November 23, 2004: Parents Just Don't Understand:
    Thanksgiving is served with tension when Neesee's mom, Katie (Debbie Allen), gets catty with Tia, and Bobby's disobedience goes too far.
     
  8. November 30, 2004: The Return of Mars Blackmon:
    Hoop dreams become nightmares when some of the parents of Bobby's basketball team exhibit unsportsmanlike behavior. Dirk and Jonelle disagree over money matters.
     
  9. December 14, 2004: Home for Christmas:
    Neesee gets angry with Tia after discovering that she talked Robert into doing an interview in New York City on Christmas Eve; Robert gets stuck at the airport. Special guests: Lil Jon and Twista.
     
  10. January 4, 2005: Liar, Liar:
    Bobby's lying leads to a lecture from Robert, Tia and Neesee. But Bobby has no trouble being truthful at a dinner party celebrating one month of marriage for Dirk and Jonelle, which lands Tia and Robert in hot water with the newlyweds.
     
  11. January 11, 2005: Get Me to the Church on Time:
    Neesee leads the gang to church after running into Frankie (Mason Durrell Betha), a friend who became religious. During the service, Dirk and Jonelle consider saving their marriage.
     
  12. February 8, 2005: Focus:
    Bobby exhibits symptoms of Attention Deficit Disorder, but Robert is determined to cure him without the help of a therapist. Meanwhile, Dirk tries to hide money from Jonelle while he considers divorcing her.
     
  13. Feb 15, 2005: Not So Wonderful News
    Robert's romantic New York Valentine's weekend with Tia goes awry when his big interview with Serena Williams keeps getting postponed by her wacky cousin/assistant Wanda. Meanwhile, Neesee caters a high-profile party for Alex's new boyfriend Eric, but when his demands become out of control, it causes tension between the two women
     
  14. Feb 22, 2005: Handle Your Business
    After an argument, Jonelle throws him out, Dirk crashes on Robert and Tia's couch causing them to get sucked into their best friends' break-up. Also, Neesee co-chairs a school fundraiser with another very competitive mother, who unexpectedly winds up being the perfect business partner for her.
     
  15. Mar 01, 2005: So I Creep
    Robert lands a job as a weekend correspondent for "Entertainment Tonight" and insists Dirk be his producer, but when he criticizes the stories they are assigning Robert, Dirk ends up quitting. Meanwhile, when Rusty, the brother of her new business partner, comes over to help Neesee build some shelves in her apartment, she unexpectedly finds herself attracted to him, but when they start dating, Rusty doesn't want to tell his sister.
     
  16. Mar 29, 2005: Movin' On Up
    When Robert finds himself unable to handle working on two shows at once, he is forced to choose between ``Mr. L.A.'' and ``Entertainment Tonight.'
     
  17. Apr 19, 2005: Passing The Test
    While celebrating Neesee's birthday at her apartment, Robert and Tia find a pregnancy test and believe Neesee is pregnant.
     
  18. Apr 26, 2005: Baby Got (Flash) Back
    When Dirk gives his opinion on how marriage changes everything, Robert, Tia, Neesee and Bobby each fantasize how their lives will be affected by Robert and Tia's marriage
     
  19. May 03, 2005: Hollywood Swinging
    It's obvious to believe that Robert is spending too much time with other celebrities while Tia is desperate in wanting him to be in her poetry show for him to support her. Meanwhile; Neccess is trying to make a move on her new boyfriend
     
  20. May 10, 2005: Sail On
    When Robert accepts an offer from his bosses at "Entertainment Tonight" to pay for his wedding for the right to televise it on their show, Tia regrets his decision when the advertising and promotions become more important than the bride and groom. Later, Robert feels bad when he learns that "Mr. LA" is in jeopardy of being cancelled and contemplates leaving "Entertainment Tonight" to help his old show.
     
  21. May 24, 2005: Season Finale
    Robert is faced with making a major career decision, while Tia learns some big life changing news. Meanwhile, Neesee is unsure she wants to take her relationship with Rusty to the next level. Damon Dash guest stars as himself.

Season Three

  1. Sept 19, 2005: Starting Over
    Following his breakup with his former fiancée Tia and losing his job a few months earlier, Robert tries to get his life back on track, until his ex-wife Neesee is forced to move in with him
     
  2. Sept 26, 2005: If You Can't Stand The Heat
    When Neesee and Robert's living together becomes too much for him to take, he pushes her to take a chance on a new place when she receives some insurance money.
     
  3. Oct 03, 2005: Kiss, Kiss, Pass
    Robert picks up a woman at a nightclub in an effort to get back into the swing of dating following his breakup with Tia. Also: Bobby is expecting a visit from the tooth fairy. Anna Nicole Smith appears. Andrea: Daya Vaidya.
     
  4. Oct 10, 2005: Love At First Type
    Robert and Neesee seek romantic partners through an online service. Meanwhile, Bobby gives Dirk relationship advice. Bobby: Khamani Griffin. Dirk: Tony Rock. Neesee: LisaRaye McCoy. Robert: Duane Martin.
     
  5. 24 Oct 05 School Colors
    After being sent to a prestigious all-white private school, Bobby Jr. returns home declaring he wants to be white, and Robert and Neesee must educate their 6-year- old son on why he should be proud to be black.
    Meanwhile, after members of a focus group for Robert and Dirk's television show mention that Dirk is too skinny, he starts going to a personal trainer.
    Congresswoman Maxine Waters guest stars as herself.

    Meanwhile, even though they are no longer together, Dirk convinces Jonelle to have his baby.
     
  8. 21 Nov 05 Legal Affairs, Part 2
    Despite warning Neesee about getting involved with a married man, Robert finds himself stuck in the middle of the affair when both her new beau and his wife pay him a visit.
    Meanwhile, Dirk is excited about the baby-making process with Jonelle, but he's caught off guard by how calculated she is about the right time to conceive.
     
  9. 28 Nov 05 Creeping With The Enemy
    When Neesee's college friend Gwen arrives for a visit, an open feud between Robert and Gwen blossoms into a secret romance.
    Meanwhile, Turtle shows up on the set of Robert and Dirk's talk show and persuades them to act in his low budget western movie.
     
  10. 12 Dec 05 Who Took The Merry Out Of Christmas
    Filled with the holiday spirit, Robert convinces Neesee, against her better judgment, to let her ex-con brother, Vonte (guest star Alex Thomas), spend Christmas Eve with them. Meanwhile, Robert tries to turn around Dirk's negative thoughts about the Christmas holiday.
     
  11. 16 Jan 06 Neesee's Grave Plot
    Robert asks Neesee to pretend that they're still married for the benefit of his dying aunt, who he never told about their divorce, but when she comes face to face with the woman on her deathbed, an overwrought Neesee just can't keep up the façade. Meanwhile, after running into an old flame who doesn't remember him, Dirk decides it would be a good idea to date her again.
     
  12. 6 Feb 06 Trying to Love Two (Ain't Easy to Do)
    Dirk falls for Robert's sister.
     
  13. 13 Feb 06 He's Gotta Have It
    Believing that his relationship with Andrea is not exclusive, Robert accepts a date with attractive segment producer Michele, but when Andrea tells him she wants to get serious, Robert has trouble breaking it off with a clingy Michele. Meanwhile, fearing that Bobby isn't her baby anymore, Neesee decides to get involved with some of the "boy" things he likes to do and ends up on a fishing trip with Bobby and Dirk.
     
  14. 20 Feb 06 Don't It Make My Brownies Blue
    When Neesee borrows Robert's new assistant without his permission, it triggers an escalating feud between the former spouses over how they take each other for granted as roommates. Meanwhile, after Robert encourages him to spice up his social studies report by turning it into a rap, Bobby is inspired to become a rapper and begins to call himself Lil' B.
     
  15. 27 Feb 06 Carmen's Karma
    Enlightened by a trip to India, Robert's sister, returns to make up for past mistakes, which include feeling responsible for Robert and Neesee's divorce, so she attempts to reunite them by putting them in romantic settings. Meanwhile, prompted by Carmen's efforts to bring the former spouses together, Robert reflects back on their wedding day and the big fight that ultimately ended their marriage
     
  16. 27 Mar 06 Domo Arigato, Mr. Roberto
    When Robert starts dating Bobby's new karate teacher, Kammy, the bond between father and son is tested as Bobby, who also has a crush on her, decides to make his own move to win her over. Meanwhile, in an effort to impress a new lady love, Clarinetta, Dirk turns to Neesee for help in the kitchen with some last-minute cooking lessons.

    Little Bobby blurts out a racist word in the middle of his birthday party, causing debate among the adults.
     
  18. 1 May 06 Surprise, Surprise, Pt. 1
    After a disturbing visit to the doctor's office that makes him feel old, Robert tries to rediscover his youth by getting a motorcycle and dating a young college girl. Meanwhile, Dirk's fender bender with his old flame, Beverly, is double the trouble when a shocking secret is revealed.
