About the Show

Season One

  1. 17 Sep 78 Saga of a Star World (Part 1)
    The 12 Colonies of Man are all but wiped out by a cybernetic race called the Cylons. Commander Adama and the Battlestar Galactica lead a ragtag human fleet of survivors in search of a mythical planet called Earth. These first three episodes were originally presented as a three-hour premiere subtitled Saga of a Star World.

    Intense radiation and a dengerous mine field threaten an urgent mission to find food and fuel for the crippled Galactica.
     
  3. 17 Sep 78 Saga of a Star World (Part 3)
    Lured by the gracious Sire Uri, half the fleet lands on the planet Carillon, unaware they are being set up for a Cylon attack.
     
  4. 24 Sep 78 Lost Planet of the Gods (Part 1)
    Female pilots step into the breach when an unknown virus strikes down the Viper Corps, leaving only Starbuck and Apollo untouched.
     
  5. 1 Oct 78 Lost Planet of the Gods (Part 2)
    In search of a clue to the location of Earth, the fleet follows a mysterious pulsating star to Kobol, the lost planet of the gods. There Count Baltar, leader of the Cylons, launches his attack — thwarting Adama and killing Serina, Apollo's fiancee

    A marooned Apollo must defend homesteaders against "Red Eye," a malfunctioning Cylon gunslinger who thinks the local cattle baron is his "Imperious Leader."
     
  7. 15 Oct 78 The Long Patrol
    While testing out a new ultrafast spaceship, Starbuck loses the ship to a crafty renegade and suddenly finds himself marooned and imprisoned on a mysterious planet where the prisoners serve terms for the crimes of their ancestors.
     
  8. 22 Oct 78 The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (Part 1)
    Convicts and clones join forces with Galactica personnel to disable a tremendous Cylon pulsar cannon that threatens the Galactica from an icy world.
     
  9. 29 Oct 78 The Gun on Ice Planet Zero (Part 2)
    Apollo, Starbuck, Boomer and their polar demolition team lead a desperate attempt to destroy the Cylon cannon.

    On a mission to secure food for the fleet, Starbuck is tricked into becoming sheriff on an agro colony — a job complicated by marauding, swinelike aliens known as the Borays, and an amourous Siress with her eye on Adama.
     
  11. 19 Nov 78 The Young Lords
    Starbuck is marooned on a world where the Cylons have wiped out most of the adult population, leaving tribes of children in charge. He must lead them in a daring raid to free their father from the Cylons.
     
  12. 26 Nov 78 The Living Legend (Part 1)
    Adama engages in a fierce conflict with the hot-blooded Commander Cain of the Battlestar Pegasus, long assumed destroyed. Adama's cautious leadership falls into doubt in comparison to Cain's more confrontational style.
     
  13. 3 Dec 78 The Living Legend (Part 2)
    Surrounded by Cylon warships, Commander Adama reluctantly joins forces with the foolhardy Cain in a desperate surprise counterattack.
     
  14. 17 Dec 78 Fire in Space
    Commander Adama is critically injured when Cylon warriors carry out a kamikaze mission against the Galactica, causing a raging inferno aboard the ship.
     
  15. 14 Jan 79 War of the Gods (Part 1)
    While Starbuck, Apollo and Sheba search for missing pilots, they find the mysterious Count Iblis. Charismatic and gifted with mental powers, he entices the Galactica's people, including Sheba, with promises of a successful end to their search for Earth.
     
  16. 21 Jan 79 War of the Gods (Part 2)
    At first thrilled that a mysterious stranger on board will lead them to Earth, the Galactica leaders discover their benefactor is the evil Prince of Darkness.
     
  17. 28 Jan 79 The Man With Nine Lives
    Film legend Fred Astaire plays Chameleon, a con-artist on the run from a group of humorless nomads, the Borillian Nomen. He masquerades as Starbuck's long-lost father — and may indeed be.
     
  18. 18 Feb 79 Murder on the Rising Star
    Apollo uncovers a blackmail operation and finds his own life in great danger as he races against time to clear Starbuck, who has been accused of murdering a fellow Viper pilot
     
  19. 25 Feb 79 Greetings From Earth (Part 1)
    Apollo and Starbuck intercept a cryogenic sleeper ship they believe may be from Earth. The inhabitants say they're from a planet called Terra, and warn of the pursuit of the tyranical Eastern Alliance. Originally broadcast as a two-hour special.
     
  20. 25 Feb 79 Greetings From Earth (Part 2)
    Apollo, Starbuck and Cassiopea return a family of six to the planet Paradeen, but their enemies track them there. Adding to the danger, Starbuck gets lost exploring an underground city.
     
  21. 11 Mar 79 Baltar's Escape
    The imprisoned Baltar leads a deadly revolt and takes hostages with the aid of the Borellian prisoners and the Alliance Enforcers.
     
  22. 18 Mar 79 Experiment in Terra
    The Beings of Light from "War of the Gods" enlist Apollo in an attempt to save Terra from nuclear annihilation at the hands of the Eastern Alliance.
     
  23. 1 Apr 79 Take the Celestra
    Starbuck's rekindled romance with his old love Aurora takes a back seat when he and Apollo become embroiled in a life-or-death struggle for control of the battlestar Celestra, ruled by the iron-fisted Commander Kronus.
     
  24. 29 Apr 79 The Hand of God
    Weary of evading their relentless Cylon pursuers, Apollo and Starbuck sneak aboard a Cylon basestar to lead the Galactica crew in a last-ditch effort to end the Cylon threat forever.

  1. 27 Jan 80 Galactica Discovers Earth (Part 1)
    After thirty years of travel, the Galactica finally locates and reaches Earth — but it's the year 1980, when the planet's technology is not advanced enough to help defeat the Cylons. Adama orders the Galactica away, to prevent the Cylons from locating Earth, and sends his grandson Boxey (now Captain Troy) and Lieutenant Dillon to the planet to locate Professor Mortinson, a man they hope can help them speed up Earth's technological development. But Xavier, one of the Council of Twelve, believes more drastic steps should be taken. He uses a time-travel device built by 14-year-old genius Dr. Zee to go to Earth's past — specifically high-tech Nazi Germany during WWII — intending to advance its technology rapidly.
     
  2. 3 Feb 80 Galactica Discovers Earth (Part 2)
    Xavier time-travels to Nazi Germany, intending to give the Germans advanced technology in order to boost the planet's modern-day tech level. Troy, Dillon and reporter Jamie Hamilton must stop him from changing the past.
     
  3. 10 Feb 80 Galactica Discovers Earth (Part 3)
    Troy, Dillon, and Jaime attempt to capture Xavier, who has returned to modern-day Earth to reclaim his Viper.
     
  4. 16 Mar 80 The Super Scouts (Part 1)
    After a Cylon surprise attack, Adama sends the fleet's children (disguised as "Super Scouts") with Troy and Dillon to Earth, where they enlist Jamie's aid to protect the kids.
     
  5. 23 Mar 80 The Super Scouts (Part 2)
    Several of the children get sick after drinking polluted water. Troy, Dillon, Jamie work to shut down the chemical plant responsible for the contamination.
     
  6. 30 Mar 80 Spaceball
    The renegade Xavier returns, sabotaging Troy and Dillon's Viper and attempting to kidnap the Galactica children, whom Jamie has taken to play at a baseball camp where she's doing a story.
     
  7. 13 Apr 80 The Night the Cylons Landed (Part 1)
    The Cylon Empire has created a new version of the Cylons, a humanoid android. On Halloween, one of these new models, Andromus, crashlands near New York City with a regular Cylon. The two seek a radio station where they can contact the rest of the Cylon fleet, while Troy and Dillon try to stop them as well as save a child trapped in a fire.
     
  8. 20 Apr 80 The Night the Cylons Landed (Part 2)
    The Cylon android attempts to take over a radio station so he can send a message to his Base Star. Troy and Dillon chase after him, hoping to stop him before the Cylon Empire finds out about Earth.
     
  9. 27 Apr 80 Space Croppers
    The Cylons attack Galactica again, this time destroying the Agroships. Troy and Dillon head to Earth for food, and wind up partnering with a farmer struggling to resist a local tyrant.
     
  10. 4 May 80 The Return of Starbuck
    Dr. Zee reveals to Adama a dream he had about a warrior whom Adama recongizes as Lieutenant Starbuck, who was lost 14 years ago in a Cylon attack. Zee goes on to describe Starbuck's crash landing on a barren planet, where he built himself a Cylon companion from scavenged parts and befriended a pregnant woman who'd arrived there in time to give birth.
