  7. Anonymous
Grissom is called to the murder of a man, found in his bathtub with a tape recorded suicide note. Grissom realised he was killed the same way as the man in episode 1. Grissom visited Paul Millander's again. This was the man whose prints were found at both scenes. Paul told them however he makes Halloween toys, including fake arms he designed on his own hand. The killer used one of these arms, thus using Paul's prints. However Paul was baiting the team. He was the killer. When Paul was 10 he witnessed two security guards take his father into a bathtub and shoot him dead. The coroner ruled the death as a suicide, and Paul's testimony was ruled as too shaky to convict the guards. This led Paul on the spree of killing the two men. He was found out by Grissom, but still not caught. Nick and Warrick meanwhile try and work out the details surrounding a car that tumbled off a cliff with a man in the back seat. After some gambling on the outcome they were told by the backseat man, who survived that he played pool a lot. When he had no money to pay his pool gambling debts, the other players beat him, and took his watch and ring. He was drunk driving, and hit a side barrier, balancing on the edge of the cliff. To try and save himself he climbed into the back seat and buckled up, which did save his life.

He tried to get in the cockpit, then he fought with a man in the seat in front of him, then he picked a fight with a man who cut Tony with a CD, finally he tried to open the plane door, at which point the first class passengers restrained him, and beat him to death, covering up his death with a string of lies, that was until C.S.I uncovered the truth. However, because of the amount of the people who killed the man, and the trouble it would be to link evidence to each one, the passengers were let off, and Tony's death went unpunished.

Robert's wife was now a suspect when it emerges she knew of her husband's affair with Paige and on the day Paige died took Paige out in the SUV to tell her not to mess with her husband. Grissom then has a lead. The dumpster outside Paige's dorm, which the garbage shoot leads to had been knocked and car paint is found and matched to a man. The man admits hitting the dumpster but denies hitting Paige. When all leads seemed to lead nowhere Grissom works out Paige was tidying her room before she left to get a deposit back, but there is no bin in the room, she went to empty it before she died, but never came back. Grissom now pieces it all together. Paige went to empty her bin before she left, the garbage shoot door which snaps shut, snapped shut and the bin fell down. Paige went outside in the rain to fish the bin out. She had to step up to get inside, while leaning into the bin the earlier car which hit the dumpster did hit the dumpster and pushed it against the wall with Paige leaning into it, this is how Paige got the crushed chest. She falls into the bin bleeding, and is then emptied and taken to the dump.

Roger's body conducted the electricity because he had hemochromatosis which means his blood had a high iron content, which is a good electricity conductor. The mother informs CSI that Dylan had 'reactive attachment disorder', and they were treating him when he died. They have a re-birthing ceremony. The boy is wrapped in a blanket naked, this simulates a womb, the boy then has to fight his way out while his mother and doctor try to trap him inside, the boy breaking free symbolizes a new birth and he should be cured, but Dylan tried too hard and he suffocated. Catherine however is lead to Bruce's friend, Jerry Walden. Fragments of a coffee table was found at Jerry's place, a rare wood which a sample was found on Bruce. Jerry said the table was out to be fixed but the pieces of wood the floor told Catherine it was smashed. After he had died Bob's wife donated his organs to be transplanted and had him cremated destroying any evidence. But Grissom could still find the science to determine how he died. His ashes were examined and selenium was found, a chemical used a lot in soil where livestock is bred. A past was also found with the two women, who until now were blaming each other for Bob's death. Claudia used to be a wealthy wife of John Gideon, who also died from selenium poisoning, and Julia Fairmont was then the PA to John. Julia caught Claudia poisoning John, and instead of turning her in they joined forces for the money. When the money ran out it was Julia who now snagged the wealthy husband the women began to poison him, until Grissom discovered what happened. But although Bob was being poisoned, he died of a stroke, but the selenium would have eventually killed him. He was in the hotel with his wife and had the stroke, she thought the selenium had killed him and she dressed him and put him in the elevator. The DA chose not to prosecute the women because of the technicality of the stroke, so the woman may strike again.

After the two women were determined as sisters, the connection had to be determined as to how they died. Donna was a loner, stayed at home all the time, ate take out, ordered goods from the internet and used chatrooms a lot. When she ordered a product over the phone once she spoke to a man, Mickey Rutlidge, she liked. She gave him her email and the pair hit it off, Donna also knew Mickey was in prison. Donna and Joan shared a house, but Joan wasn't so good in helping out in the mortgage payments. When Mickey got out he went to see Donna with flowers. Joan turned up however the the sisters went at it. They fought over privacy and who should be allowed in the house and during a fight Donna fell through a window and died. Mickey just watched in horror, until Joan said she'd say he had killed Donna. Scared of going back in jail, Mickey tried to stop Joan and broke her neck. Panicking he took both the bodies and dumped them. Wrong place, wrong time. Nick and Catherine's victim was first thought to be a victim of a hunter who mistook him for a deer. When it was found out that Linda Japer, James' wife had taken out an insurance policy for him just before he died for $1,000,000, which was suspicious as James as an insurance broker. But it was soon discovered that it wasn't Linda's signature on the policy. Using handwriting analysis, it was found out that James has forged his wife's signature. Nick and Catherine now worked out what happened and why James was shot in the stomach. At the crime scene they looked in the small lake where they found a gun, proving their theory. James and Linda were in debt, and James knew suicide nulls any insurance policy unless it's taken out by someone else. James forged the document and then killed himself so his wife could pay off the debt. He shot himself in the stomach so he could have time to throw the gun into the lake, but his forgery still nulled the insurance and Linda was left alone.

Season Four

  1. September 25, 2003: Assume Nothing:
In Part 1 of the two-part fourth-season opener, a woman is found murdered in a casino hotel room with her throat slit and her husband also turns up dead in his car. The investigation is compromised by Nick when he makes an error in judgment. There is also a surprising development in the Sam Braun case that leaves Catherine worried.

  2. October 2, 2003: All for our Country:
Conclusion. The investigation into the double homicide turns up two more murders and the evidence leads Grissom, Warrick and Nick to believe a police officer may be involved. Across town, Catherine and Sara probe the death of a college student found after several days in his still-running bathtub.

  3. October 9, 2003: Homebodies:
Grissom leads the investigation when the mummified remains of an elderly woman are discovered in a closed closet that the victim tried to claw through to get out. Meanwhile, Catherine links the discovery of a handgun in a yard to the shooting death of a bounty hunter in a park across town.

  4. October 23, 2003: Feeling the Heat:
Catherine investigates the death of a baby who was left inside a locked car on a steamy day; Nick and Sara examine a lakeside scene where a young woman's body was found washed ashore; Warrick tries to determine whether a man found dead in a sweltering house was the victim of an accident or foul play.

  5. October 30, 2003: Fur and Loathing:
The writers at CSI have come up with some strange and kinky cases to investigate in the past (think the scuba diver in a tree or Lady Heather). But in this truly bizarre episode they've outdone themselves, which makes you wonder: do they have vivid imaginations or does stuff like this really happen? A man dressed in a full raccoon suit becomes roadkill after he's hit by a car on a dark stretch of highway. When Grissom and Catherine arrive, they discover he has also been shot. It turns out the dude is part of a weird group that believes in acting on animal instinct.

  6. November 6, 2003: Jackpot:
Grissom visits a small Nevada town to investigate the death of a man whose severed head was found by a dog in some nearby woods; and Catherine receives an unexpected and unwelcome gift from her dad, which prompts her to visit him.

  7. November 13, 2003: Invisible Evidence:
Warrick is blindsided in court when a bloody knife he recovered from a suspected killer's car is determined to be inadmissible, leaving the CSIs only 24 hours to find new evidence before the accused murderer is set free.

  8. November 20, 2003: After the Show:
Catherine takes the lead in finding a missing model, believed to be dead, after the prime suspect insists on talking only to her. The news doesn't sit well with Sara and Nick, who each hope to use the case to improve their chances of getting a promotion.

  9. December 11, 2003: Grissom Versus the Volcano:
Sheriff Atwater suspects terrorists are responsible for a car bombing outside a casino that killed three people, but Grissom isn't so sure, even though the man driving the vehicle was a federal marshal. Across town, Sara and Warrick investigate the death of a popular entertainer's wife, who is found floating in a hot tub while her husband is performing on-stage.

  10. December 18, 2003: Coming of Rage:
Grissom investigates the murder of a 15-year-old boy found beaten to death at a construction site, possibly with a hammer; Nick probes the fatal shooting of a newlywed outside of her new house while her husband and ex-hubby fought in the yard.

  11. January 8, 2004: Eleven Angry Jurors:
A reviled juror is found dead in the jury room after refusing to go along with his 11 counterparts in voting a defendant guilty in a murder trial; a woman claims that her sister was murdered four years earlier by her brother-in-law who allegedly burned the body and threw the ashes into a river.

  12. January 14, 2004: Butterflied:
Grissom can't help but examine his feelings for Sara when a dead woman who bears an uncanny resemblance to her is discovered as part of a double murder he's investigating. A second dismembered body is soon located in nearby trash cans. Making the case tough to crack is the fact that the killer took extraordinary measures to clean up after himself.

  13. February 5, 2004: Suckers:
Grissom investigates a twist-filled case in which a priceless 17th-century Japanese samurai sword is stolen from a Vegas hotel. In the northern part of the city, Catherine and Warrick probe the death of a woman who appears to have been bitten by a vampire and her blood consumed by her attacker.

  14. February 12, 2004: Paper or Plastic?:
Grissom confronts a nemesis on the police force when he probes an officer's role in a shooting spree inside a small grocery store that left five people dead. The same cop had threatened Grissom after Gil investigated LVPD involvement in a homicide. In the current case, the officer claims he gunned down two robbers and shot at a third masked suspect, but there is no evidence that a third thief was present. There is evidence, however, that a bullet from the cop's gun killed an innocent shopper.

  15. February 19, 2004: Early Rollout:
The investigation reveals that a fortune in jewelry was stolen and that the victims were once involved in the porn industry. Back at the lab, Catherine makes a startling confession to Grissom, and Brass questions Sara about an alleged health problem. Also: Warrick confronts Greg over unprofessional conduct after Greg shows up on the scene ill-prepared.

  16. February 26, 2004: Getting Off:
A well-dressed man driving an expensive car is murdered in a drug-infested part of town, but robbery apparently was not a motive; a dead clown is discovered stuffed inside of a huge truck tire at an auto junkyard; Grissom learns some surprising news about Dr. Robbins.

  17. March 11, 2004: XX:
A mutilated female body is discovered tied to the undercarriage of a bus carrying prisoners from a women's correctional facility after a severed arm flies out from beneath the vehicle and strikes a car. Catherine leads the investigation and at first believes the woman was escaping, but the evidence increasingly points to murder. Back in town, Warrick probes the death of a gambler who was stabbed multiple times in his brother's kitchen.

  18. April 1, 2004: Bad to the Bone:
An intimidating, husky man is beaten to death in a casino men's room, apparently by a lone attacker. The investigation leads the CSIs to the slightly-built owner of a run-down motel where they find evidence of other crimes and murders, but few explanations.

  19. April 15, 2004: Bad Words:
Catherine and Warrick suspect a serial arsonist is at work after a house fire kills a teenage girl in a neighborhood where there was a previous blaze a few days earlier; a champion at a popular word-game tournament is found dead of asphyxiation in a men's room and several tile letters are found in his throat and stomach.

  20. April 29, 2004: Dead Ringer:
Grissom discovers the dead body of a Los Angeles cop in the desert during a nighttime 120-mile relay race for police officers and the investigation turns up signs of foul play. Back at the hotel where the officers are staying, two more bodies are found in what appears to be a murder-suicide between male and female cops who may have been lovers. But Warrick and Sara believe it may be a double homicide.

  21. May 6, 2004: Turn of the Screws:
Six people are killed when the cars of a roller coaster fly off of their tracks at an amusement park and land in a parking area. The investigation reveals that it wasn't an accident, but murder. Outside of town, the body of a 13-year-old girl is discovered near a lake and the probe uncovers evidence that she was murdered and her corpse dumped at the site.

  22. May 13, 2004: No More Bets:
A man who cheated while winning more than $400,000 playing roulette at one of Sam Braun's casinos is later found dead in the desert. When Grissom learns of the connection to Braun, he dismisses Catherine from the case, but she finds it difficult to stay away. Back at the lab, Sara is hurt after she learns that Grissom selected Nick for a promotion instead of her.

  23. May 20, 2004: Bloodlines:
In the fourth-season finale, a casino employee is beaten and raped on her way home from work, but she survives and identifies her attacker. Unfortunately, a DNA test sets him free and Grissom must wrestle with whether evidence can ever lie. Later, Grissom comes to the rescue of a coworker who ends up on the other side of the law.
